Real estate agents are always looking for new ways to improve their business. With a booming industry, it can be difficult to find the time and resources necessary to grow your business. As a real estate agent, you know that the most important thing is to show your clients the right home. But there are other aspects of running a business that needs attention as well! What do you need to be successful? Is it a great product or service, a strong work ethic, or the right connections? If you are an agent working in real estate and have struggled for years to make ends meet, then this article is for you. In this blog post, we will discuss 4 business hacks that can help any agent get ahead.
The first business hack involves building a strong team.
It is necessary to have other agents who are willing and able to help you with your workload so that no one agent has too much on their plate, which can lead them to burnout. But what kind of people should you be looking for when it comes time to build this type of relationship? There’s an old saying in the industry: “you’re only as good as your network.” Therefore, any agent worth their salt will spend a lot of time investing in relationships because they make up such an integral part of success. The second tip is sticking with what works! Your product or service may not work well for everyone, but customers who love it then keep doing it. That may sound obvious but it’s a mistake that many business owners make. The third tip is to take care of your mental health as well. This should be true for anyone, really. But especially important if you’re an entrepreneur because the risk and reward are so high in this type of job.
Building a successful team starts with knowing what’s your personality type, in order to know who do you like working with. You can take our quick quiz to learn a little bit more about your personality
The second business hack is: to stay up-to-date with technology and trends.
Tiktok, Instagram reels, virtual house tours.
Tiktok – video social media app popular amongst younger generations (teens)
Instagram Reels – a reel of short videos that automatically play one after the other on an account’s profile page; similar in function to Snapchat Story Mode
Virtual House Tours – prerecorded online walkthroughs of properties for sale or rent which can be viewed through 360° panoramic photos
These channels or tech are new ways to reach potential clients. Or to better assist your clients. And they are also new sources for business leads. Below are two quick tips on how to utilize hashtags on social media, from our post
–How to use social media to its full potential–
1- When using hashtags on social media, make sure the hashtag is relevant to your business or post topic and not just a generic marketing ploy – this will help you reach more people who are interested in what you’re posting about.
2- If you’re not sure what hashtags work best with certain industries or business types try using “Hashtagify” on Twitter or “hashtags” on Facebook – these will give you ideas of popular tags in that industry/industries. For example – if I search “#realestate”, I get various suggestions including “#realtor”. Other sites like Twubs have hashtags organized by type of business (#RealEstate). These are good places to start.
The third business hack is to find professional real estate agent mentors.
Teachers, counselors, coaches. They can teach you the skills and business practices that will make you more of a success in this industry. Yet most importantly, their years of experience can be literally condensed into weeks of training, which gives you a decent shortcut to many paths.
